Children's Worship

When and Where is it?
"Children's Worship" begins at 9:30 a.m. in room 109 of the Fellowship Hall. Children should be registered in room 109 by 9:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 10:45 a.m. in room 108. Parents are always welcome to stay and worship "kid style!"

What is Children's Worship all about?
Children's Worship is a real worship service designed specially for preschool to elementary aged children who aren't quite ready for "Big Church!" Our children generally range in age from 5 to 10. We celebrate when children are ready to join their families in worship, yet welcome them to join us for a "kid style" worship until that time. This worship hour is jam-packed with appropriately bite-sized elements to keep children engaged, active, listening and enjoying! Our worship includes music, movie clips, puppets, story telling, crafts, small "share and prayer" groups, illusion, skits and more. Children's Worship originated in September 2002 and now coincides with our "Crossroads" contemporary worship service on Sundays at 9:30am. Some original themed units in the past have included:

  • "New Beginnings"...a new look at the Creation
  • "Jesus, Our Savior"...a Lenten to Easter experience from pretzels to "resurrection rolls"
  • "The Parables of Jesus"...Spending summer looking into Ms. Lynn's parable box
  • "Fall Full of Miracles" ...One WOW after another!
  • "Journey Through the Old Testament"...with our guide, "Traveler"
  • "Big Questions for Seekers and Peepers"...with our frog puppet friend, "Peeper"
  • "Hooked on Jesus"...all the Bible "big fish" tales with "Rainbow Fish"
  • "Forty Days of Porpoise"...A fresh twist on the "Forty Days of Purpose!"
  • "Kids of the Kingdom"...culminating with the coronation of the King of Kings at Easter
  • "God's Green Acres"...learning stewardship down on the farm with "Steward" and the animals
  • "Super Heroes"...from the Old Testament and learning to put on the armor of God
  • "God's Creation... An Orderly Plan and A Wild Imagination"
  • "Metamorphosis"... our totally "buggy" transformation thru the book of Proverbs.
Advent and Christmas time in Children's Worship have been awesome. We have explored the true meaning of the Savior's birth through our advent preparation and Christmas celebrations. Some themed worships have included:
  • "The Best Present of All"... with the Donut Man
  • "The Great Adventure"
  • "Agent Advent"... "The true meaning of Christmas has been lost... your mission, should you chose to accept it..." What a blast!!

Kid's Club

What is Kid's Club all about?
With the beginning of "Connections," our new Wednesday evening program, "Kid's Club" will also be back in action! Hurray! This fun Bible Club for kids, utilizes the "Faith Weaver Friends" curriculum. To be able to offer a dynamic program for elementary aged children, fresh ideas and more volunteers are essential! All that is needed is a heart for kids and a heart after God! You've got the gifts... you've got the heart... you've got the time... we've got the kids!

When and Where is it?
"Kid's Club" begins at 7:00 p.m. in room 109 of the Fellowship Hall. Children are picked up by parents by 8:15p.m.. Parents are always welcome to stay!"
