Member Care

A Ministry that Provides an Umbrella of Caring

The Member Care Team is committed to welcoming and assimilating new members into Kent Island United Methodist Church. We encourage and assist all members to become active, responsible members. We nurture and share Christ's love, care, and concern among the members of the Body of Christ and compliment existing programs and ministries, and initiate new ones, when needed.

Dinners for Eight    top of page

Helping Hands     top of page

A meal if prepared and delivered by volunteers for those church families who are ill, recovering from surgery, just had a baby, etc.

Home Communion     top of page

Home Communion is offered to shut-ins or those homebound due to illness, surgery, etc.

Name Badges     top of page

Available to everyone by request. Name badges are worn during church services and church-related activities.

New Baby Baskets     top of page

A welcome basket is filled with "baby goodies" and beautifully decorated. The baskets are then delivered to the new babies of our church families.

New Membership Dinners     top of page

This is an invitation to join our Body of Christ. Classes are led by the Pastors, that include information about United Methodist beliefs and doctrine along with current and historical information about Kent Island United Methodist Church.

Outreach Attendance Ministry     top of page

"We miss you and want to see you back in church!" With the aid of the attendance sign-in sheets from church, we send postcards and call those we have not seen in church for several weeks.

Tape Ministry     top of page

The 8am church service is recorded on audio tape. Copies are made to distribute to our shut-ins, those homebound due to illness, or anyone requesting a copy. Loaner tape players are available.
