Kent Island United Methodist Men
Men's Fellowship Breakfast
For thirty consecutive years Kent Island
men have gathered in the Fellowship Hall at 7 A.M. for good food, good
fellowship and good fun.
This time of sharing is open to all men, all ages, not just members of the Kent Island United Methodist church. Food is served at 7 A.M.; after eating it is time for music. Occasionally guest musicians perform, but more often the group of 22 - 35 men sing three hymns accompanied by a CD or tape.
Next, an inspirational and encouraging message is shared by a member of the group or perhaps a guest speaker. Before concluding the Fellowship Breakfast around 8:30, joys and concerns are shared. Then a member lifts the joys and concerns in prayer. There is a basket into which a contribution can be placed to help defray costs.
Ever flexible and fun loving, the group rotates speaking and cooking chores and helps with various mission projects of the church. The dishes are washed and put away, tables are set up for Sunday school, and bulletins are stuffed for Sunday services as the Men's Fellowship Breakfast draws to a close for another week.
