Safe Sanctuaries Training
As Christians, we take our responsibilities to children and youth very seriously. When we neglect to take adequate precautions to protect them from abuse while in our care, we fail in our responsibilities as Christians. We are committed to providing as safe and secure an environment as possible for all children and youth who participate in the ministries and activities sponsored by our church.
Therefore, this “Safe Sanctuaries” Policy describes the minimum guidelines to provide a safe, secure environment for ministry to all God’s people, especially children and youth. All persons who work with children (infants - 17 year olds) in an any capacity must be Safe Sanctuary Certified under Kent Island Methodist Church. Please contact your ministry leader or the Church Office, at 410-643-5361. You will be provided with all required documents necessary to complete the certification, as well as a link to our training video. |
KIUMC's Safe Team
Annual training in the Safe Sanctuaries Policy and Operations is sponsored by our Safe Team for every adult volunteer interacting with children. In-person trainings are held four times a year (January, March, June, & September), one of which is mandatory. Click on the Safe Sanctuary Policy button to read our policy, which is updated and revised as necessary. |
